- Find out the dimensions of the walls on the inside, noting the measurement from your room's corners to the moldings around your doors and windows.
- Take note of where electrical outlets and plumbing connections are and keep in mind that you'll most likely want appliances near these.
- Measure the height of the walls, up to the ceiling, or if your ceiling is vaulted, up to the height you want your cabinets to be, remembering that ideally you'll want to be able to reach the top shelf.
